Friends of GOA-ON




The Friends of GOA-ON Fund is an affinity fund administered by The Ocean Foundation that provides direct and indirect support to GOA-ON with grants and services. Founded in 2014 and announced at the inaugural Our Ocean Conference, the fund has raised over $200,000 to support GOA-ON activities. Recent achievements include:


  • Funding and facilitating a capacity building workshop held in March, 2016 in Mozambique where 15 scientists from 9 African nations received training from GOA-ON member Dr. Sam Dupont on how to manage their own ocean acidification monitoring programs; and


  • Funding of travel for six scientists from regions with low capacity for studying ocean acidification to attend the Oceans in a High CO2 Conference and GOA-ON working meeting in Hobart, Australia in May, 2016.
